The Skipper       Commander Robert J. Lamoureux was born in Lowell, MA on 3 May 1933. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the United States Naval Academy in June 1958.

Following flight training he was designated a naval aviator and served with VF-101 and VF-161 until 1964. Subsequent duty assignmentshave included the USS Boston (CAG-1) and USS Truxtun (DLGN-35). He is a graduate of the School of Command and Staff, U.S. Naval War College. In 1968 he was awarded the degree of Master of Science in International Affairs from George Washington University. He served two years on the faculty of the Naval War College until reporting as Executive Officer, Uss William R. Rush (DD-714). He served as Senior Naval Advisor VNNTC, NHA Trang, Republic of Vietnam during 1972. Priot to his assignment to USS Charles P. Cecil (DD-835) Commander Lamoureux served on the S taff-Faculty of the Naval Command College at the Naval War College, Newport, RI.

Commander Lamoureux is married to the former Dorothy A. Norton. They have four children; Bernard 13; Therese, 11; Anne, 10; and Robert, 6.
