Lately the site has been in contact with a lot of former Cecil crew members who come across the USS C.P. Cecil Web Site while surfing the web or after being contacted by former shipmates. Many of these sailors are not members of the Cecil Association and are not even aware of its existence.

When I receive Email from one of these ex-shipmates or find that they signed the Ship's Log, I first check the current rosters to see if they are listed. If not I send them a reply asking for their personal history data and add them to the Site's Roster. The problem I see is that these sailors are not dues-paying members of the association and totally in the dark about how to participate in the Cecil Association.

If you are one of these folks and wish to join the Association, here's what needs to be done. Complete the 2000 Cecil dues form, make out a personal check payable to the "USS Charles P. Cecil Association" and mail the completed form and your check to Jules Fryoux (Association Treasurer) at the following address:

Once your membership has been recorded, you will receive a membership card and periodic newsletters during the year to keep you informed of what's going on with the Association, especially the dates of the annual ship's reunions.

Also, all you current members who have not yet paid your dues for the year 2000, get out the old checkbook and send Jules your annual membership fee along with a completed 2000 Cecil dues form.
