Peter Huchthausen : Author of Hostile Waters St. Martin's Press 1997 The true story about the sinking of Soviet Yankee class SSBN K-219 in 1986 off Bermuda. ______________ Proposed ad for your C. P. Cecil web page: Former crewmen of USS C. P. Cecil DD/DDR 835 Gentlemen - I am currently writing a book about the exploits of three American destroyers during the Cuban Blockade in October 1962. The focus is on the three ships who forced three Soviet Foxtrot class subs to the surface. USS Blandy DD-943 (my former ship), USS Cony DDE 508, and USS C.P. Cecil DD/DDR 835 were the ships. I have found the Russian former commanding officers of all three subs and their unit commander who was embarked in a fourth which never surfaced. I am seeking crewmen from Cecil who were aboard during the month of October 1962 and who may have some sea stories to tell and perhaps some photos of the event. I have found material from Blandy and Cony crewmen which has proven extremely valuable to the effort, including photos of the subs on the surface and some with the destroyers with the subs taken from VS or VP aircraft. I would appreciate hearing from any of you who were aboard then and who would like to share some information. Any photos or diaries shared would be returned. My addresses are listed below and would be happy to hear from you by e mail or regular mail or telephone. Thank you in advance for your assistance and enjoy your reunion in Las Vegas. Peter A.
