12th Annual Ship's Reunion
(Oct. 15th to 20th with optional 7th day)

This document is intended to serve two purposes:

  1. It is a registration form that lists and describes all the reunion events that are planned and includes the cost for each event.
  2. It is "Plan of the Week" that provides day-by-day schedule of all the events including when they will happen each day.

Ship's Plan of the Week

Sunday - All shipmates and their guests will meet in the Hospitality room to register and review all the information provided about the reunion activities. Dinner is on your own. The Hospitality room will be open until 23:00.

Monday -City tour with a Harborside luncheon

  • 0900-Depart on the tour (approx 5 hours)
  • 1400-liberty Call - you're on your own. Check out the pamphlets in the hotel lobby.
  • 1700-Dinner on your own. There are several restaurants near the hotel. Hospitality room open until 23:00

Tuesday -LaJolla Tour to include the Stephen Birch Aaquarium, Mt. Soledad, LaJola and another Harborside lunch

  • 0900-Depart on the tour
  • 1400-Liberty Call. You're on your own. There's a Mall near the hotel for the shoppers. Ask at the lobby for more information.
  • 1700-Dinner on your own. Hospitality room open until 23:00

Wednesday -A two hour Harbor excursion that includes a great box lunch at the Seaport Village at the end of the excursion which will include time for shopping.

  • 0900-Depart for the tour (Approx 5 hours)
  • 1400-Liberty Call. Dinner on your own.
  • 1530- (Optional) There will be golf after (3:30) for those that are interested!! Herve has talked to the golf pro.about our shipmates that want to go to the Harbor cruise and play golf too. The pro said Ok and the green fees with a cart are ($ 39.00)per person!! Please check with Bill Elliott on Sunday !!
  • 1700-Officers' Business Meeting
  • 1800-general Business Meeting
  • 2000-Annual auction in the Hospitality room. Please bring along a donation for the auction.

Thursday -Deluxe Tour of the San Diego Zoo aboard a double decker bus that includes a sky ride over the park. Lots to see - a great tour!

  • 1400-Liberty Call. You're on your own. There's a Mall near the hotel for the shoppers. Ask at the lobby for more information.

Friday -Memorial Service and tour of the aircraft carrier Midway

  • 0900-Depart for the Memorial Service at Fort Rescans Cemetery
  • 1000-After the Memorial Service continue to the tour of the aircraft carrier Midway. Lunch is on your own on the Midway. This is a great retired US Navy vessel.
  • 1400-Liberty call.
  • 1800-Annual reunion banquet including cocktails served at the bar (at your expense)
  • 1900-Dinner served in the Hospitality room.

Saturday -A great optional tour of the Lawrence Welk Resort

- Price $72.00 per person -- ($72.00 x n) -- Subtotal: $______

  • 1030-Depart for the Lawrence Welk Resort for a delicious all you can eat luncheon followed by a special theater performance (Tribute to Frank Sinatra). After the performance you get to stroll about the Lawrence Welk resort.
  • 1700-Return to Home Port. Anchors Away - That's all folks. See you all next year.

 

 

 

 

 

Summary:

It is important that you take the time to complete this Registration Form and return it promptly (no later than August 15, 2006) to Rich Sayers. The reunion planners need this information to schedule transportation and make reservations.

After you add up all your sub_totals, including your 2006, 2007 Cecil Association dues ($15.00/yr), make out a personal check for the total amount, payable to the USS Charles P. Cecil Association, and mail it to:

In closing, we'll be looking forward to greeting you all on October 15th to welcome you to San Diego. We hope you have a grand time enjoying the California sunshine while renewing old times and fond memories with your Cecil shipmates. We worked long and hard to prepare for your arrival and hope that you like what we've done. All we can say now is that we tried our best.
