README FileThis file describes the general purpose of all the files contained in the Web Site for the Web Page Design and Publishing with HTML course. The Site index file lists a number of files that your instructor will use during the course. Each entry in the index not only names the file but serves as a link to the actual file within the Web Site. The files are arranged in three major groups according to type and purpose. We will not go into detailed descriptions of each file as that will become clear in the context of how the files are used during the course. But feel free to browse through all the files at your own leisure. Both .GIF (static and animated) and .JPG files are available. Feel free to use any of these files you wish to experiment with on your own pages. You will learn how to capture these files and save them on your home hard disk or on the diskette you receive for use in class. Sound FilesThese four sound files are included to add a little music when you invoke some of the HTML files. You will note that they can not be activated on the PC systems you will be using in class. Sound is disabled or the machines have no sound cards for obvious reasons. Imagine the environment if they allowed 20 students to blast out 20 pieces of music at the same time. You should be able to use these files when you access the site from your home computer if you have a sound system installed and enabled in your default browser. |
