showed why they are ranked No. 1 in the nation by scorching
the Permian Basin Bulldogs, 56-0, in the United Professional
Football League championship game. The Drillers won their
fourth league championship since forming a team and look to

The season is not over for the Drillers, as they will march
into Marlboro, Mass., to take on the Marlboro Shamrocks Saturday
night. The Shamrocks were the American Football Association
national champions in 1997 and 1999, the United States Football
Association national champs 1997-99 and the Minor League Football
News national champs 1997 and 1998.
"I think we answered a lot of questions (against Basin),
but I think we'll answer even
more questions when we take on Marlboro," Coach Marcus Dees
said. "There's not a finer team in the country than Marlboro.
They are truly the team of the decade, and they showed they're
willing to play anyone anytime. This will only be their third
game of season because they're a fall-ball team.
"We've done pretty good against fall-ball teams in the past.
They've got a heck of team,
but so do we. We'll see what happens."
