Things I think about RiverPalace

Here are 6 things to think about RiverPalace this
week.  (I admit I stole the name from the thumbs
column last week)

1.  Congratulations to the planning board for their
public meeting last week.  This month's gold star to
Brion Carroll for keeping the developer on track.

2.  I think someone has a crush on Salem !!  What else
could you think after reading the letter "We Want
RiverPlace" by James Rice last week?  And I quote "I
tell you every time I go to that town on Route 28 I
don't see all the problems that these naysayers keep
bringing up."  Well I checked FBI website and found
that there are a few problems in the Salem area.  For
starters, the crime rate is 3 times that of Hudson. 
But "I tell you they have good schools", sorry James,
the average SAT Math score is 3 points higher in
Hudson.  Here's my suggestion, pack up all the "Salem
Wannabees" and jump on 111 east.  

3.  In one of the half page ads W/S has taken out in
the paper recently they talk about being a good
neighbor.  So I expected to see improvements to the
Hudson roadways at the recent planning board meeting. 
Not one upgrade to the Hudson road system.  They must
figure that they will get enough business with the
exit 2 upgrade.  Have they ever driven down
Dracut/River rd before?

4.  The Friel family should be ashamed of themselves. 
Its not all W/S Development's fault, they are a
business that builds malls ahhhh I mean lifestyle
centers.  The Friel's have a right to sell their
property, but they also have a responsibility to be a
good neighbor.

5.  Just wait until we start discussing all the other
topics, like Water, Sewer, Police, Fire, secondary
development. 

6.  W/S is consuming a considerable amount of town
resources dealing with this application.  What other
things are we missing out on?

Make Hudson a great place to live not a great place
sit in traffic.
